Planning your first trip to Vegas? The options can be overwhelming, but don’t worry—we’ve got the inside scoop on where to stay and where to find the best seafood.
Whether you want luxury, budget-friendly, or something in between, these hotels come highly recommended by Vegas veterans.
1. The Cosmopolitan – Best First-Timer Experience
For a first visit, the Cosmopolitan is a top pick. “First stay has got to be the Cosmopolitan, Terrace with Fountain view,” says Shiryl McCoy. With stylish rooms, great nightlife, and one of the best Strip locations, it’s perfect if you want a mix of excitement and comfort.
2. Bellagio – Classic Vegas Luxury
If you want a true Vegas experience, Bellagio is hard to beat. “Bellagio is great. Lots to see at that hotel plus the location is great to see other properties,” says Mara Tibbetts Flores. Bonus: You can dine at Spago with a view of the famous fountains.
3. Vdara – Quiet, Casino-Free Escape
Not everyone wants the nonstop energy of a casino hotel. “The Vdara. It has studio-like rooms and very quiet. It’s the only hotel with no casino but has a walking connection to the Cosmopolitan,” says Michelle Simonton Karles. Perfect for those who want a little peace while staying close to the action.
4. MGM Grand – A Vegas Staple
MGM Grand is a tried-and-true favorite. “We love the MGM, one of the best hotels!” says Devorah Paula Blaire Solomon. With a huge casino, multiple pools, and tons of entertainment, it’s a solid choice for a first-timer.
5. Paris Las Vegas – A Central & Charming Stay
Want a hotel that’s right in the middle of everything? “When I took my mom for the first time we stayed at Paris, it’s close to the top hotels, shopping, etc.,” says Kristin Tracy. With its charming design and easy access to the Strip, it’s a great pick for first-timers.
6. The Venetian – Spacious & Upscale
If you love spacious rooms and an upscale vibe, The Venetian is a winner. “The Venetian is great because all the rooms are larger, and there are a lot of shops, restaurants, cool/cozy lounges, pools, an amazing spa, and the gaming floor is big and airy,” says Christy Crown. It’s on the pricier side but worth it.
7. Park MGM – Stylish & Smoke-Free
Park MGM is a great option for those who want a modern, smoke-free hotel. “Being realistic. If you’re not a baller but still want top-notch, Cosmo is the way to go. But we also loved Park MGM,” says Charlene Justice. If clean air is a priority, this is one of the only fully smoke-free hotels on the Strip.
8. Treasure Island – Budget-Friendly Fun
If you’re looking for something more affordable but still fun, Treasure Island is a solid pick. “Treasure Island ❤️,” says Lena Kozakiewicz. It’s got a great location and is often more budget-friendly than other big-name resorts.
9. Palazzo – Spacious & Relaxed Vibes
For those who prefer a more laid-back experience, Palazzo is a great choice. “Palazzo has nice large rooms and is typically an older crowd,” says David Wood. It’s connected to The Venetian, so you get all the perks without the crowds.
10. Excalibur – Fun for Families & Budget Travelers
If you’re bringing the kids or just want a budget-friendly stay, Excalibur is a fun option. “Excalibur!!” says Penny Payton. It’s one of the more affordable hotels on the Strip, with a medieval theme that adds a bit of whimsy to your trip.
